To cancel your Spotify subscription, you will first need to sign in to your account and choose ‘Subscription’ from the menu found on the left side of your computer screen. Under your subscription type, you should see a button that states ‘Change or Cancel’ – click on it, and then choose ‘Cancel Premium.’ You will then be asked to verify if you want to cancel your subscription. Select ‘Yes’ if you want to proceed with the cancellation. Take note that you will still be able to take advantage of the Premium subscription benefits until your next bill would normally be due. After that, the account will then shift into a free streaming plan. You will still be able to access Spotify, however, you’ll trigger advertising in between tracks. In other words, you will only be able to replay albums and songs outside of Spotify’s personalized playlists. You will not incur any extra payments for your service plan; however, it is important to remember that if you cancel prior to the normal billing period, the invoice could have already been processed and therefore could still leave your account after the cancellation. If you need more instructions aside from the information provided above, here are some additional steps you can follow to cancel your Spotify Premium subscription:

Step 1: Log in to your Spotify account page.

Step 2: Under “Your plan” and select “Change Plan.”

Step 3: Scroll to “Spotify Free” and choose “Cancel Premium.”

Step 4: Continue through to the verification message.

Step 5: Your account page will then display the date your plan will change to Spotify Free. While waiting for the confirmation, you can continue to use Spotify’s Premium features until then.

When the plan moves to Spotify Free, you can still sign in, play songs, and view all your stored music and playlists. However, as mentioned earlier, the free version will trigger ads to play in between tunes. This is one of the major disadvantages of cancelling your Spotify’s paid subscription.
